The summer of 2022 was relentless. Gaynes Park in August was glorious. Ella and Rob were exactly the kind of couple who make a day like that feel effortless.

13th August 2022 was two days after the UK recorded its hottest temperature on record. The heat hadn’t broken. Gaynes Park in that condition is something else entirely – the gardens at full summer weight, the light heavy and golden, the kind of afternoon that looks almost too good to be real.

Ella and Rob were completely unbothered by it. That ease – the genuine kind, not the performed kind – is what made the day. With Martin Beale alongside on second camera, we worked through the full estate and let the heat do what it does to summer wedding photography: warm everything up and strip away any pretence.

The Day

Gaynes Park in August is the venue at its most generous. The Long Walk, the Orangery, the open parkland beyond – all of it in full colour, the gardens still holding their summer best. Ella and Rob moved through the day with an ease that made every part of it feel natural rather than scheduled.
